The course was in good condition with soft greens and hard fairways and some good scores were recorded.
Nearest the pin on the 10th was John Schoenemeacker and the longest drive (18th) was won by Lucy Hole.
The proceeds of the day go to the Junior Golf Academy at Château de Pallanne so it was good to see several of the academy students taking part. The Junior section put in some good performances with George Coleman coming 4th, Benjamin came 3rd, Louis 2nd and young Alexis the Junior winner with 34 points.
In the main competition the ladies did well filling two of the top three places. Third prize went to Aude de Casteneau with 38 points, second prize went to Maximilien Cracchi with 41 points and the winner of the perpetual Charity Day trophy was Jennifer Lee with 42 points. (See picture above).
48 people sat down to lunch and afterwards we held a charity auction. Restaurant meals, green fees, golf clubs, training aids, trolleys, bags, fine wines — you name it we auctioned it. It is too soon to know exactly how much has been raised for the Junior Academy as there is still money coming in, but thanks to everyone's generosity and Roland Lafargue in particular, it looks as though we will be handing over around 3,000€. Many, many thanks to all those who gave prizes, auction lots, donations and their time. Another superb Musketeers day.
