The Water l'Eau Trophy, as the French like to call it — they have a natural aversion to the word Waterloo — is always a hard fought contest between the Musketeers and the members of Pallanne. The 2014 version was the fifth running of the event and it was won by the Musketeers. The overall score is now Musketeers 3, Pallanne 2. As always, one of the most enjoyable parts of the day was the post-match meal. This year was particularly special because a good friend and long-standing member of Pallanne who had been in a coma for a considerable amount of time was not only on the road to recovery, but she was there in person, in a buggy on the course and at the post-match meal. It was a joy to see her again and everyone stood and applauded Linda Vermout. We look forward to her recovering fully and playing golf again. Eric Monnoyeur said some very kind words about the Musketeers and their support for the Club and the Adrien Monnoyeur Academy. |
Roll on next year!
